Hilton Head, Beaufort and Hunting Island

Well, we had to say a sad goodbye to Laura today after a great breakfast at the Waffle House right next to the Applebys where she works. Then off to Hilton Head, which was a BIG disappointment, you can't see the ocean for all of the exclusive, gated resorts and communities. Where's a dog to GO? We shook the dust off of our feet there and went back to Beaufort where we walked all over town and looked at the beautiful houses along Bay Street across from the marshes and river. Beautiful view, beautiful houses, as you can see.

Then off to Hunting Island, just south of our campground, but which is mostly state park and you can't really get at a beach if you don't pay their fees and all, and they mostly don't allow dogs, so we took a pass at that as well. The campground looks great, however, lots of trees and access to the dunes and water, so if we ever come back this way we will probably stay there.

We stopped along the way at a seafood place where you can see their boats and you know what they sell is fresh and bought some large shrimp, which Dad grilled on the barbie tonight. De-lish!

Well, off to Morehead City, NC tomorrow, and more SEAFOOD!

Arf, Suzie
